Dinosaur Bone History, Lore, Facts, Myths and Pictures
Petrified Dinosaur Bone or "dino bone" is the product of millenia-old fossilized bone (from dinosaurs!) in which the cellular contents have been replaced by quartz, leaving the cellular bone structure intact.
The deserts of the American southwest (notably Utah) produce many fine specimens. Dino bone ranges in colors from browns to black with splotches of red, blue and bright yellow.
This another stone for which I couldn't find any folk lore, possibly because it hasn't been used as a jewelry or lucky stone before recent times. But... imagine wearing something that lived more than 100-140 million years ago! Wow!
