Hello everyone! Today's generation is obsessed with jewelry, and nearly 30% of the population is currently purchasing it. Without a doubt, they are having fun, unless their jewelry has become tarnished.

What would you do if you were in the same situation? You must first learn the process of cleaning jewelry at home.

General Jewelry Cleaning And Care Advice

Basic Jewelry Care Tips

Silvergets shinier the more you wear it, so don't keep it in a jewelry box. Put some chalk in your silver drawer to get rid of any moisture or store your silver in a bag that keeps it from tarnishing.

Sad that your jewelry doesn't look as good as it did when you first bought it? Cheer up. You don't have to use harsh chemicals or spend a lot of moneyto clean pearls, gold, silver, costume jewelry, or gemstones.

You can easily clean them all at home and keep them shining without having to buy expensive cleaners or harsh chemicals. Just make sure you know what kind of jewelry you have so you can figure out how to clean it best at home.

Soap residue and regular dirt can get stuck in jewelry and make gemstones look flat and dull. Always take off your ringswhen you wash your hands or put lotion on them to keep the settings clean and make your jewelry last longer.

Use a soft cloth to remove any oil or perfume from the pearls after you've worn them. Silver gets shinier the more you wear it, so don't keep it in a jewelry box.

If you're not going to wear it, put some chalk in your silver drawer to absorb any moisture or store it in a bag that won't let it tarnish. Here are some things you can do to take care of your jewelry and keep it looking like new.

Pearls

Real, cultured, or fake, pearls should be cleaned carefully because they are easily scratched. Put the string of pearls on a soft cloth first. Use a clean makeup brush to go over each pearl with a mixture of warm water and a little shampoo.

Use a clean, damp microfibre cleaning cloth to shine up the pearls. Let them dry flat so the string doesn't get stretched.

Gold

Pour a few drops of dish soap into a small bowl of sparkling water or club soda to give your gold a bubble bath. Put the jewelry in a small strainer and put it in the bowl to soak for about five minutes.

Swish it around, then pull out each piece and use a soft toothbrush to clean the settings and cracks. Put each piece back in the strainer and run water over it. Dry and polish with a soft microfiber cleaning cloth.

Silver

Silver can tarnish after just a few hours of wear. To clean pieces that are dull, filmy, or starting to change color, mix a few drops of dishwashing liquid with warm water and then dip a microfibre cleaning cloth in the mixture.

Rub the jewelry with this before rinsing it in cold water and drying it with a soft, clean cloth. Mix together three tablespoons of baking soda and one tablespoon of water if you want the rusting to be stronger.

Wet the silver and use a microfiber cleaning cloth to spread the cleaner on it. Fill any holes with the paste, turning the cloth as it turns gray. Then wash it and rub it dry. If you rub silver-plated jewelry too much, the finish could wear off.

You can also cover a glass bowl with tin foil and add one tablespoon of baking soda and one tablespoon of salt. Put the jewelry in the bowl, then pour hot water over it. Soak the jewelry for a few minutes, then take it out and put it on a paper towel.

To get rid of any residue, polish with a microfiber cleaning cloth.

Costume Jewelry

Use a microfiber cleaning cloth dipped in a bubbly solution of dishwashing liquid and water to clean costume and gemstone jewelry, especially if the stones are glued instead of set.

Wipe off any smudges or dirt with a damp cloth, then rinse with plain water. Dry the pieces with a towel and lay them upside down so the water won't get into the setting. Don't put the pieces in water because the glue might come loose and the gems might fall off.

You can also soak gemstones that aren't stuck together in a mixture of warm water and two drops of dish soap for a few minutes. Use a soft toothbrush to reach any places that are hard to reach. Put the jewelry back in the solution, and then rinse it with tap water.

How To Keep Jewelry Safe?

According to 10news, keeping the jewelry away from other metals and in felt is the best way to keep it from rusting. Felt helps stop tarnishing and buildup of moisture. Because of this, it is often used in jewelry boxes.
